PRIVACY · BETA

Privacy, without the mystery.

TypeSona uses first-party analytics to understand whether the quizzes are useful and shareable. We record pseudonymous browser, visit and quiz-attempt IDs, quiz version and language, campaign labels, referring website hostname, result type, answered-question number and product actions. These IDs are not your name, but they can connect activity from the same browser.

Invitations

A shared link contains a random share ID so we can measure whether another browser followed that invitation and completed the same quiz. Your friends do not receive your browser ID, email or account identity.

Optional result feedback

After completing a quiz, you can tell us whether the result sounds like you. We store one feedback choice with that quiz attempt, its result type, version and language, using the same pseudonymous browser ID as analytics. We do not ask for a written comment or send your answer choices. Submitting feedback is optional and does not unlock or restrict your report. Analytics opt-out and browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control also disable feedback submission.

What we do not collect in analytics

We do not store individual answer choices, advertising identifiers, precise location, full referring URLs, or the contents of anything you share. Copying a link or opening a native share sheet does not tell us whether you posted it. New browser events are not attached to the account that happens to be signed in when a delayed event arrives.

Accounts and saved results

Where Google sign-in is enabled, it is optional. Google supplies your stable account identifier, verified email and, when available, display name. We use that identity to keep your saved results separate from other accounts. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or calendar, and do not retain Google access or refresh tokens.

Sign-in uses necessary, secure cookies: a login transaction lasts up to 10 minutes and a signed-in session lasts up to seven days. Signing out revokes that session. We store a hash of the session token, not the token itself. Old preview accounts are not automatically merged with Google accounts by email.

Where network abuse protection is enabled, the hosting service processes your network address into a rotating, secret-protected rate-limit key to limit automated sign-in attempts and excessive analytics submissions. Analytics protection uses a separate secret and rotates its key every 10 minutes. The application does not write your raw IP or this network key into its authentication or analytics tables, or its application logs. This protection is separate from quiz tracking; a shared Wi-Fi network can share an allowance. Requests marked Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are ignored before analytics network-key processing.

Payments

Full reports are free during the public beta. If payments are enabled later, Stripe will process checkout details; TypeSona will store only the payment status and the quiz entitlement needed to unlock the report.

Your choices

You can take the quiz without signing in. Browser storage holds your random identifier and a temporary event queue (at most 100 events, expiring after 24 hours). Clearing site storage resets your identifier. The analytics choice below does not disable cookies needed for a sign-in you request.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. Changing this preference clears pending events but does not erase events already received.
